Wicked

wicked.bmpSo for Christmas (yes, 7 months ago) we got tickets to see the play Wicked in Los Angeles from Mom and Gerry. The tickets were that popular that they couldn't get them until July. But we finally saw it on Wednesday and it was Awesome, a Must See!!

This is a funny story...Mom and Gerry got us tickets for a play last year and when we arrived the show was postponed but not for a later date but for 3 month earlier (they felt they didn't need to tell us). This time we got the Wicked tickets and a gift certificate to a very famous restaurant right next to the theater and when we went the restaurant was closed!! Mom and I decided she'll never buy us tickets again...we are bad luck!

I've heard good things about Wicked but we haven't seen it yet. Lucky for us, shows stay playing in New York until the theater is finally empty.

USAToday's review, for those interested in a little background:

Do you ever check out the TKTS booths down in NYC? They sell the half-price tickets for day of shows...they sometimes have great shows and you get great deals. when I was in NY for a week (I was 16) we got all of our theater tickets from there.

Serious "Wicked" fans here, too. Riley was humming something about "absolute loathing" the other night that just about freaked me out until I heard the soundtrack blasting in Holly's car.

U tube link (if I pasted it right) to Tony Performance. Glad you got to see the show, we're enjoying the CD thus far. Clever music and lyrics.

we haven't hit up the tkts booths yet since moving here, but ya i used to get most tickets for shows there when i was here for a summer - a while ago. another great trick is standing in line at the theater day-of for super cheap discounts (good for very popular shows) but that's a bit harder when you're working full time.
