Wedding On The Water
So Rachel and I have finally set the date and found a location for our Wedding Extravaganza! We had a few places and ideas in mind but nothing concrete. This last weekend we did a little location scouting and found a perfect place that we both really enjoyed. Here is a break down of the majors:
Date: Sunday July 26th, 2009
Location: Marina Del Ray
Place: Fanta Sea Yachts & Yacht Club
Yacht: RegentSea

We've always enjoyed the wedding on the water concept. I can of course thank mom who first introduced the idea. We have been on a number of boats similar to this one for New Years Events and have always had a very memorable fun time. We have currently scheduled the RegentSea Yacht for a 6-10pm time slot. I believe people will be able to board around 5:30pm which will be nice because we will be doing an hors d’oeuvres and drink service prior to the ceremony.
We are still very early in our planning even though supposedly this particular yacht has already begun wedding bookings for 2010. (Craziness) So other wedding details will of course be made and announced, as we get closer. But food, drink, flower, and ceremonial issues have pretty much been taken care of which is a lot of stress off our backs. Since the wedding will be on a Sunday people may have to take work off but with this much time allotted that should not be an issue.
The boat will sail around the Marina which should be beautiful being summer time and with the 6-10pm time that we've chosen hopefully we will have a gorgeous sunset. We will be looking into hotels in the area as well as for places to hold the rehearsal dinner. There are tons of very nice hotel establishments in the Marina area. So maybe we will try and get something on the beach which I think would be more festive for our out of town guests. There are a number of scenic locations in the area as well so pictures will be done somewhere close.
Anywhos this is the beginning of our planning so you will all hear more as time continues. But for now block off the weekend of July 26th 2009 because that is a date that will not be changing. This is the website which is very detailed when presenting the options offered. Like I said before we have chosen the RegentSea, which you can check out in detail by clicking on the following link:

I just took the virtual tour of the yacht, and I've decided to request a cabin to live there (maybe permanently). As they say in Brooklyn, "How Sweet It Is!". Does it ever get tipsy, or is that only the people on it? I'm sure with Adam's connections , Alex Trebek will probably be bartending. Please don't roll out the Jeapardy Game, it intimidates me. Should be the highlight of 2009 in the California world.
What a great location!! I can't wait for the event, very very exciting!! (hope you don't mind i added some images to your blog .. i just got too excited!!)
Since I have a pilot's license can i be captain of the ship? Just wanted to offer my services ... although, we may not make it back to port on time.
No mind on the pics. I would of done it if I can just get over the hump of never posting a pic. Rachel always handles that (when I beg). When was the last time you flew agian? Don't think it's the same kinda dealio. But we'll check. However there are cumffy benchs where guests can watch and converse with the REAL capitain.
It shouldn't be to rocky, I think the fastest it will ever go is like 2-3 knotts so like 5 mph.
The boat is amazing! What a great location. you guys have a lot of things already figured out. I am impressed. We will put it on our calendar and look forward to the special event.
very kool
This looks like it'll be lots of fun. Most of all, it'll be great to share the event with you. Does anyone (think reruns) know the meaning of "For a three hour cruise, a three hour cruise..."? Never know where thing's will lead.
You and Rachel ROCK!!!! This looks really perfect for you. We have so enjoyed sharing New Years Eve on the boats....Very Romantic!!!!
this looks and sounds like a great time! let me know if you need any help, after ours of course. :)
