It's About "Longterm Job" Time

So thanks for not banning me. I know I def. deserve it. So after 8 months, I have officially become a full time Sony Pictures employee. Yeah! Like all companies do, I'm starting out pretty low on the totem pole. I also will have an opportunity to be up for an annual evaluation in three months in which I will be able to discuss a raise in pay as well as possibly a better job title. But it's a step in the right direction. I finally have insurance as well which is great. So you can look for me in the long crawl (that's industry talk for the credits)- Rachel hates it when I use industry lingo-. I'll probably be a long ways down, but I should be listed soon enough. So now when anyone comes to visit Cali I’ll be able to give personal Sony Lot and Jeopardy stage tours.

Good for you. I think of the head of Sony Pictures as a very rich Donald Trump type who lives in a palace on a mountain in Japan laughing at American tastes in television as he counts his millions. Does the employee handbook use two languages? I used to think half my life was on "probation" in different companies , when actually they were on probation with me . It seemed to take years, not months to feel comfortable at different jobs. But I guess I learned that real education never ends. (P.S., I still feel intimidated by Jeopardy) .

This sounds like great news, Adam. I don't know the details in your industry, but my general experience has been that the difference between part time and full time is a huge one. Particularly given current economic trends, bringing on a full timer is a big vote of confidence. Fine details of money and title matter, but not nearly as much as I used to think. I suspect that once one has "enough", adding more beyond that often involves a lot more hassle without proportionate gratification. Congrats, and enjoy.

way to go- call me man miss ya

High fives all around my man! Keep in mind that it always takes steps from no where to get somewhere.

Ok, I'm even confused on that one. :) Hang in there kitty. ;)
