Trip To VeGaS

So this last weekend Rachel and I took a trip to Vegas. We were celebrating our 7th anniversary as well as her B-day. It was really good times. We decided to drive which for us is not that far. I was flying on the freeways so I think I made it there in under 4 hours which is really good.

When we've gone in the past we've enjoyed staying at Mandalay Bay Hotel which I highly recommend. Rachel doesn't like the theme hotels (Ceasers/Circus/Luxor) which I don't blame her. They have a wide variety of pools one being a wave pool which is the only one of its kind in Vegas. So we rolled in and I guess because of capacity issues they moved us to Mandalay Bay's 2nd Hotel called THE hotel. To my surprise it was very different and I think a bit more elegant. We got a huge room with a Jacuzzi tub and a huge flat screen TV. It was on the 25th floor so it overlooked a good portion of the city. I like the T.V. situation in this specific hotel because they have a huge shark reef downstairs which you can tune into on one of the TV channels. With my love for aquariums you can just guess that all three TVs including the bathrooms were tuned to this 24/7.

The two major things we did when we were there minus drinking, was ..

(1) Danced it up all night at a club in The Stratosphere: it had 3 separate huge rooms with three different time genres represented in each one. 70's, 80's, and NOW. It was awesome, even though it being three different time genres my dancing stayed the same. (Hip thrust 1, Hip thrust 2, with an occasional right and left swaying motion to really change it up. )

(2) We were able to get discounted tickets to The Beatles Cirque De Soleil show LOVE. I highly recommended it they were able to really merge the songs with one another while keeping the show moving forward. Sad to return but there is always been something with Vegas for me, I love getting there but usually I am just as excited to leave. Can not imagine living there being that it is one of the fastest growing areas in the U.S.

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" does not apply as your narative was almost an advertisment. What interesting happenings and comments.

Maybe I have written 2 responses as this internet is more than lame! I posted but then never got the post ed comment. Bummer! I did one but do not see it anywhere:(

Anyway...if you get off the strip there are some wonderful hiking and swimming / rafting places. Once found it is really a contrast. The other pull is housing has ben rather reasonable and guess there must be enough jobs.

I have always wondered how tipping is for service people. If you lose seems you would be unble to tip!

We totally have to get back to vegas .. haven't been there since we were married (11 years ago). I be we wouldn't even recognize it.

4 hours to get to vegas .. that my friend is not good. You must have broken every traffic law on the books! .. dude .. be safe!! (or .. let Rachel drive .. she is a MUCH better driver)

I agree completely with Rachel on the theme hotels .. they are usually packed with kids/families and even crazy loud. We stayed at Circus Circus once and almost took out a few kids.

I've gotta look into the 'bathroom tv' idea when we remodel .. maybe amini fridge as well.

I agree with brain 4 hours to vegas seems fast I also pictued vegas a 8 hour trip. But Im not even sure were Nevada is located. Maybe its not above us. Maybe its to the right. Mind bongaling.

Anyways your room sounds nice. I want to model my house like a hotel room. I just love the feel of hotel rooms. Very sexy.

Did you do any of the roller coasters? Some of those Vegas roller coasters are ranked as some of the best in the country - good times if you like the scary rides.

I would like to do some of the outdoor activities in the Vegas area like your mom mentioned - haven't had a chance but I have heard some good things and plenty of things to do with hiking, Lake Mead, etc.

Adam McKinney:

Yea Kris, I've heard of that lake area too. Rachel and I were thinking maybe next time doing a vacation over in that area. Here it's great, a lot of boating activities and what not.

No we didn't do any roller coasters. To expensive for the experience. I'm still trying to get Rachel to go to Six Flags over by Matt. It's got to be one of the craziest theme parks in the nation. I just got free tickets from work so Rachel or not I'm going! Cause I love COASTERS!

This sounds like a great time. The performers in Cirque De Soleil are amazing, aren't they?
