Baby Western Gull SCALPED

A Western Gull came into Shannon's clinic today after being scalped, it is likely that the scalping was the result of being pecked at by other birds to avoid sharing food/space.

It was in pretty bad shape when it came in but is expected to fully recover.

Wow, I'm impressed. In a person, I'd have expected the blood loss from such a wound to be lethal (my understanding is that this is why scalping "works", because even a little cut on one's scalp bleeds so much and it's really tough to get it to clot off). Looks like Shannon saved another bird that would have died without her: nice work. -J

Wow indeed! You are truly doing your part in saving the environment... even before 'being green' became an accessory.

Looks like the website could use a little saving for style and usability, I know someone who does great work for cheap prices. (insert additional self promotion)

Just kidding, sorta. ;)

oh and by the way, not to be insensitive - but your t-shirt rocks.
