put down the match scarecrow

10k

runner.jpgRan a 10K today, was a full 6 minutes slower than my 10K PR that i hit this summer, so - that's not great. But - I'll take it .. 44.44.

I feel good about the race because the limiting factor wasn't my knee - it was my gut/fitness. I'm 20 lbs heavier than i was when i ran 38.44 in August - and, since that is easier to fix than a bum knee I'm pretty stoked.

yea!!!! It is a good reason to be stoked. Glad the knee didn't act up. I am still treadmilling every am but the weight loss is
s l o w now. Would really like to get another 10 lbs off. Do you have a program set up with your machines?

I liked Jeff's idea about swimming. I bet you would like that. I can just picture you with flippers, and goggles in the shallow end. The extra weight will help you float. I remember when we were little and you were able to float in the chariton pool and I was a scareddy cat. However, by holdong out on performing the backfloat, I did get a new doll when I finally did it.

Good to hear that the knee held up for the run. Losing the 20 lbs. will definitely drop some serious time. How did your knees feel the next day?

I may try swimming, good idea.

My knee didn't hurt the day after the race, but - when i went for a jog yesterday/today it bothered me so who knows. I get my MRI tomorrow so hopefully that sheds some light.
