put down the match scarecrow

crash ..

The unrelenting deterioration of home values and what seems like daily crashes in the stock market have eaten away at ~10 years of savings for us. Pretty brutal. At this point it seems silly to sell ... although who the heck knows anymore.

The only enjoyment I get is the images used by news organizations that show the anguish of traders on the exchange floor. Im not sure why .. but, it helps seeing their pain.

I've decided that in an effort to recoup our savings Im going to start playing poker again .. wish me luck. I think this is a brilliant idea.

Yea I never thought the stock market was any good. Seems like it goes up and down supersticiously with certain global activities or speaches. Doesn't seem like that should affect a companies worth I'd rather keep it all in CD's.

Yes serious times but I believe your home will rebound and now you already have so much of both of you in it. Over time, it will turn out to stand you in good stead.

Will wish you success at the multiple tables. You have been successful before! I am so not a gambler...never even tempted....Just returned from a Bridge Cruise...walking through the Casino reminds me of the pressures and noise of trying to make a living a "Circus City" LOL. Looking back...pretty amazing that as non electronic as I am I could be as successful as I was...but it was PAINFUL.

Gerry is like you...he enjoys and has the confidence for game. Ofcourse He also has ability and confidence to concentration etc.

You should hook up that web cam I gave you and snap pictures of yourself while playing... the results may not be too different, at times. :)

I'm all for capitalism and what capital allows, but I often agree with Steven on the seeming lack of logic in the stock market.

Maybe the stock market HAS BEEN playing poker. Sometimes the hands are named things like "Iceland" or "AIG".

At least poker doesn't have bundled derivatives, and your hand is still your hand. And, maybe times like this will draw some marks to your table?

Good luck.
