put down the match scarecrow

best. plant. ever. ... what is it?

Shannon planted these a year ago and this spring they went nuts, growing more than a foot every week - now they are over 7 ft tall.

Best plant ever .. unfortunately we forgot what they were, we'd like to get more .. any green thumbs out there who can ID these?

I got site above from my query to Missouri Botanical Garden - who seemed stumped. Not clear if UC Davis group does visual IDs from photos or if they need a specimen.

What amazing life. That growth and differentiation must involve some incredible cell biology.

Mom, we've planted calla lilies here based on your success with them. I suspect water will be key issue here. Sun at this latitude does remarkable things for plants. Lady Bird Johnson legacy evident here too. Large swaths of bluebells and such in unexpected places.

Not unusual to see people reclining in wildflowers on highway and bikepath green spaces. Asked TX friends if OK to pick. They said, "it's not against the law, but you might get shot anyway."

WOW. I have no idea but I want 7. Wonder if they would survive through NYC winters?

Shannon figured it out ..

Crazy Cool Plants!!!!!!

Wildpretii. What a perfect name. The link begs a question- when are you going to start beekeeping?
