This bird looks pretty exotic to me, or at least with an exotic feathers pattern. What species is it? And, there's usually an equally interesting story about how it came to your house.
Regardless, nice that you could help another creature in need.
Lots of duck chatter! .. yes, I was equally intrigued when Shannon brought this duck home. (It was found wondering the streets of San Francisco -- ended up in Shannon's clinic and that lucky duck (ha!) found the best home ever (mine)).
Interesting fact: If a crested duck and a non-crested duck breed together, the resulting ducklings would be expected to be 50% crested and 50% non-crested.
There are actually lots of ducks with the funny feather hat: More Crazy Ducks!
Umm, excuse me? what is that animal? It looks just like the Afro chickens we saw on a farm.
Dad says he thinks that animal looks like you!

Was that duck hit by a meteor? It looks like he has a crater in its head?
No offense, Mr. Ducky….

Brian, I had no idea there were so many ducks with feathers like this. Pretty neat.
Even a mallard. Amazing.
