Hit the mother-load today .. found 17 barrels of Napa Valley wine (several different reds) on the side of a county road. I could seriously smell the wine as I approached. 17 barrels = 935 gallons = almost a year's supply!

Shannon's workspace just got alot more public ... she now essentially works in a bubble at set times through the day. The glass is one way .. so the public can all see her, she can't see them (she can hear them .. they can ask questions). The new 'exhibit' (Shannon) is raising a lot of awareness and $s for the hospital. .. imagine ... having your work area open for public viewing. and .. before she comes out there is a video recording which is pretty rad too .. (photo of it in progress below)

spiders in the trees

Nature is pretty cool ... An unexpected side-effect of the 2010 flooding in Pakistan was that millions of spiders climbed into the trees to escape the rising flood waters; due to the scale of the flooding and the fact that the water took so long to recede, many tress became cocooned in spiders webs. People in the area had never seen this phenomenon before, but also reported that there were less mosquitoes than they would have expected ... not being bitten by mosquitoes was one small blessing for people that had lost everything in the floods.

Despite a long standing absence from the McKinneyTree I submit the following photo as proof that Heather does in fact still live/breath!! .. Hooray for Heather's living/breathing!! She's a very elusive sibling .. recently spotted in Savannah, who knows where she'll pop up next .. please post if there are other sightings!!

Picked up some of artwork recently... the artist (Anthony Papini) was showing his work after a 10Mile race I ran (held as part of a Pear Fair). I always enjoy speaking to an artist about their work. Did I short triathlon a couple weeks back ... it's a mystery to me how I became such a bad swimmer. I used to be a lifeguard (well -- a lifeguard that never did anything but tan). My place by discipline ... (clear weakness/strength evident) 500m Swim:36/50 13K Bike:13/50 4K Run:3/50 (10th overall)
