Washington and Apples

Here RIley and I are at Washington DC Capitol, standing by a pretty fountain.

Back in Missouri, we went apple picking. It was very hot that day, so we got some cider to drink. I think the cider tasted really good. We ate some green apples right off the tree. Because it was so warm that day, they tasted like apple pie.

That's a great pic of you and Riley in front of the Captiol, looks like great fun. I just posted this is Riley's blog, but Grace and I are planning a D.C. trip in a few weeks - we'll have to check out all the great spots you guys hit.

I'm sure it can't compare to St Louie, but it's been mighty warm in NY too. We don't have any great apple-pie-apples to pick though. ;)

Outside the building I work in, people are actually ice skating with shorts on. :) Maybe I'll have time to snap a pic and post to my blog before it finally cools down.

Your family does many fun activities - Washington D.C., camping, picking apples (Mmmmmm...Apple Pie), etc. I enjoy seeing the pictures and hearing the stories of you and your family's adventures.

Adam McKinney:

What a larger than life picture. I feel like if you removed the U.S. flag on top of the building you guys may be able to double for rich heirs to a royal family. It looks as if it was just you guys around that day.

Homemade apple cider is the best isn't it? Rachel really likes it we usually have an opportunity to get our own when we go to the L.A. Farmers market on Sunday’s. What did you guys think about the green apples? Did you like them better than the red? After some time tasting both I prefer the green I think they have more taste.

Claire you are becoming quite the picture poser. That must be the McKinney genes shining bright. This will pay off big for future class pictures. Great hearing from you, we always love reading your families posts.

Hey Claire! Have you tried the memory game on our website lately? I just tried it for the first time...

59 seconds, with 34 turns...

could that be the RECORD?? Or, have you beaten this before?

Dear Uncle Matt.
You are faster than my dad is. We tried the game and took 1:16 and 38 turns. Will try to get faster.

I think Criag is cool to be able to make this game on the website. Riley wants to try it now, too.

Thanks for your post. Claire.

We have lots of apples in my home orginal home State, Washington. When Washington State Univ. plays Washington Univ. each fall, it is called the Apple Bowl.
