elevator advertising

Rockefeller Center is home to many NBC owned stations - Bravo, USA, SciFi and Lifetime to name a few. Often when a new show is premiering you'll see a whole new set of advertisements pop up around the building, in both the public and employee areas - due to the heavy foot traffic of both. Some campaigns are simple/small posters or hand outs others are over the top/in your face. Below are three pictures of the latest full elevator wrap (floor and all) that SciFi just put up for their latest mini-series Tin Man.

I've heard the show got some poor reviews (we've got it saved on DVR but haven't yet seen it) but I thought the elevator wrap was very well done.

Keep your eyes on the NBC dumpster . . . nothing would look better than those movie wraps around my cement pillars all over the house!

Adam McKinney:

That's a pretty cool idea. Do they ever blanket the skyscrapers with huge billboard like ads? I know every couple of weeks in L.A. there are a couple of skyscrapers that are almost always covered in movie advertisements. You may have been out here during the time but do you remember the Armageddon skyscraper advertisements? It was a huge whole that had burning fire surrounding it. When you looked at it, you could see the sky through the burning whole appearing to be the other side.. From the freeway it looked as if an asteroid had fell right through the building. I think it was so visually amazing that they had to take it down because it was causing traffic accidents and delays. I tried to find a picture online but I couldn't.

At Sony they do something similar to your work. I’ve never seen the elevator wraps, which are pretty awesome. However, we really only have elevators in the parking structures for the most part. Here they put advertisements all over their lot vehicles that a number of employees have to use. Then they have one major billboard on top of their tallest building, which constantly changes. I’m always amazed at how quickly they change them. I would think it would be a big task, especially the cars, which I would think, would be similar to a tinting job. But who knows.
