Iron Horse Hotel, Milwaukee

Last week Grace and I made a return trip to Milwaukee for the wedding of our two friends Zach and Kristin. We had never both been in a wedding together and that made the whole trip more enjoyable - as we've been to others where one of us is part of the wedding party and the other is stuck hanging out with people we don't necessarily know very well. With sunshine and 70 degree weather, it was great to be back in the city and the wedding was a lot of fun.

We found a new (3 weeks old) hotel online that opened around the corner from where I used to live that we decided to check out. The Iron Horse Hotel was one of the best hotel we have ever stayed at and being just outside of downtown it was cheaper than anywhere located so close to the city (a mile awhile). It is located in an old warehouse that was restored and is half a mile from the new - huge - Harley Davidson Museum, so fittingly it is Harley friendly with some beautiful custom bikes on display in the lobby. In addition to being gorgeous and very upscale feeling, the staff was beyond courteous to the point that we actually chose to have dinner and drinks at the hotel just to strike up conversations.

I realize with the lack of McKinneys now in Milwaukee there may not be a direct reason for you to be in the city, but if you catch a cheap flight I highly recommend spending a weekend at the Iron Horse Hotel and enjoying all that is our old friend in Wisconsin.

Looks like a sweet hotel!

Here's a tip: shave that chin fuz, what is that? It looks like a caterpillar, a very sad old half dead caterpillar

Easy, I'll tell that sad caterpillar what you said and he'll get angry. No one wants an angry caterpillar after them.

Wait just a minute...

"We had never both been in a wedding together"?!

What happened in Jackson?

-Your trusty flower girl.

Ha! You are so right Claire - how could I dare not count our own wedding. Don't tell Grace. ;)

Claire and I had the same thought:)

The hotel looks amazing! I enjoyed Milwaukee on my visits....and your place was pretty interesting and Charlie a great companion!
