late night ramblings from Brooklyn

Halloween 2011

This year we decided to decorate the house for our (hopeful) trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood.

We also attend a Halloween costume contest every year, that a couple of friends of ours host at their Brooklyn restaurant. We had plans to start much earlier, but again time seemed to slip by and we had to come up with something a few days prior to the event. I thought we came up with a pretty original idea and execution - and apparently the judges did too, as we took home first place!

Below is what we did.. can you guess what we are?

CRAZY GOOD costume... you guys raise the bar each year.

I was going to be the typical ghost or zombie, but wanted to be more relevant for Holloween this year. I walked out on my job, bought a tent and a drum, and became an occupy wall streeter. Way scarier than a zombie.

Excellent costume. Anyone else even close in the contest?
Scary spider decorations, too. They look great on your home. I bet the rigging was exciting.
Any trick or treaters?

Happy chaos in our neighborhood as we make more connections with people here. We somehow acquired a little Indian princess with no parents or siblings during our rounds. I kept trying to figure out how to explain things if we couldn't reunite her with her family. All ended well.

Snow in October? Yikes.
