Come quickly, I am drinking stars!

Who is E.M. McKinney?

Some are wondering who the person is in the old photo. It is my grandfather Ernest Milton McKinney who died before I was born. He ofcourse was the father of my father , Harold (Mac). The pic was taken from a newsletter in 1913 when he was 27 years old. He was an insurance salesman & was pictured as the top producer of sales for that year. I can see some resemblance in his features to some of you. Well, that's my first blog.

ya, thanks again for sending those photos - they do make a great addition to the slide show! if anyone else has photos to add, send 'em my way.

Am I missing something I dont see any photograph

The photo is on the rotating group in the rotating header. You'll recognize it as a tanish/black-white photo with his name next to him.

Using this site as a way to tap into, and display, things from the photo archives is really nice. Ol' E.M. being a prime example, and shots from Chariton and other "historic sites" another.

This month, I stopped in the drive way of the house on Highway 34, and it looked good: a flower garden around much of the front patio, various planted trees much bigger than I'd remembered, the lilacs up front still growing. Fencing in front was taken down (nice touch assuming the front yard is no longer doubling as pasture). Outhouse gone from view - how could anyone want to take down the outhouse?! We would have died of exposure some bus-stop mornings without it.
