Anytime Fitness Update
The business action is now fast and furious. Many things are going on at once - I feel like one of those performers balancing many plates while standing on a ball too. The balance comes in getting everything as synchronized and staged as well as you can (within your control) with the construction of the space, getting equipment in on time (not too early, but not too late), getting other key players (security installation) in at the right time dependent on the general construction that is completed, figuring out all of the many different business forms and requirements of the city and state, and the list does go on. Overall, in maybe a sadistic way, it is fun.
I'll keep you updated and with pictures when there is something to photograph.

Sounds very exciting .. I'm hoping for regular updates since I'd love to partner/mimic your approach in other locations after you master the process. I recently read some good press in the NY Times about the franchise. their growth in the past 3 years has been insane.
This looks nice. I can only imagine that every sq inch on the floor plan involved thinking about how you want to do things. I saw a franchise here in MO recently - it looked busy, which I hope is how things play out for you. Best of luck. Sounds like a good idea, which you're a great guy to translate into reality.
I got a haircut today across the street from the Anytime Fitness Center in West Des Moines, so went over to look around. The machines are very impressive, much better looking than other gyms I've seen. They seem a little crowded though . . . seems like you might bump into another person as you get off the equipment. I took note of the prices on the yard signs also. "Summer Special: 3 mo.$99", regular signs said: 3 mo.$125, 12 mo. $33.95 ea., 24 mo. $29.95 ea., No Enrollment Fee!. Of course these prices may be the same at all locations across the country, but if not, at least you know the fees here.
P.S.: the flood waters are now going down fast enough that there will be a ballgame tonight next door.
Really exciting Kris! Looks like you are juggling and standing on a ball quite well:) What did you end up deciding about the tanning equipment? Sounds like it is a lot of decisions etc but also sounds like you are really enjoying the experience! Will look forward to seeing it!
