South Carolina Trip

SC is a fantastic state and I would highly recommend that you all vacation there sometime. There is obviolsy the shore line that has cute turristy towns and beutiful oceqan scenes, But I would recommend looking at the northwest corner of the state for fantastic, and frequent waterfalls, hiking trails, nature perserves, and athentic roadside stands. There is also a natioanl park called Congoree in the middle of the state that is less traveled by tourists but is a 22,200 acre park that protects the largest contiguous area of old growth bottomland hardwood forest remaining in the United States. There are amazing bald cypress trees as well as turtels, owls, lizards, and wild pigs the roam the park. Anyway, overall a fantastic trip, hiked a lot and kayaked in swamps, and intercoastal waterways (with dolphins!). Here are some pics.

These are the unusual waterfalls you only dream of . . . like a different world. Right now I see local waterfalls all over the city as we cope with flood waters downtown. All bridges closed, sandbags surrounding my bldg., elevators not working, underground parking evacuated . . . waiting for rivers to crest this weekend. I'll stay until all elect. power is gone and water is lapping at the front door. The car is packed for a run to the motel if needed. That's life near rivers.

once again i feel like a nob for spending so much on airfare when there is so many cool things here in the states. I had no idea SC had spots like this. Shot #6 (crazy trunk things?) and the gecko are my favorites.

great shots heather

Ya Im like brian that gecko picture is amazing... we have alot of snails like that at moms house unfortunately with me going out side in the dark for cigarettes they dont last long...but they seem to reproduce raster than my feet can eradicate.... very amazing pics...

Adam McKinney:

Awesome pics guys! I swear they got it all wrong when they filmed Lord of the Rings in New Zealand. South Carolina looks gorgeous. I reallly like the picture of the tree with all of it's trunks going every which way. As well as the funny little Dr. Seuss like plant picture underneath it.

As always great shots. Think my favorite is the orange creature. Hope your trip was good...We are just back and I still have the ear slug thing but beginning to get order back :) What are you doing with your time off? Enjoy! Enjoyed meeting your work friends and putting stuff away!

These are spectacular photos. I'm clueless about that part of the country - and I can see why people become so attached to the land there. Dophins and old growth forest in one trip...I wouldn't have throught that possible.

Riley thinks the snail looks cool. How big was it?

Really great pics! Maybe there should be a desktop backgrounds download section to hartzstudio.com, these are better than the nature shots that come packaged with a new mac.

Now, I'm anxiously awaiting some Brooklyn pics. :)
