new! alias e-mails
To keep everyone's personal e-mail addresses confidential from any website passer-byers, I have set up alias accounts for everyone via mckinneytree.info. When you visit the tree network (address book, if you prefer) you can view everyone's new alias e-mail addresses. These will definitely help with remembering each other's contact easier and serves as a safety net for releasing your true e-mail address.
When someone e-mails you at this new address, it will be forwarded on directly to your current account. Then you can just reply as usual to whomever e-mailed you. Should your true 'current' account change at any time, please let me know and I can update the forward.
The great thing about these new addresses is if a spam system (or the like) get a hold of an e-mail and begins to fill your inbox with junk, we can easily change your alias e-mail to eliminate the junk - while your personal 'real' e-mail account won't need to be changed.
The first time (or a few after) your junk filter within your e-mail client may mark these incoming messages as junk or spam. So, you may want to send a test e-mail - or two - and make sure you have marked these incoming messages as not-spam/junk.
Also, for those of you with two people/e-mail addresses on your account your new e-mail will be delivered to both parties. For example, if you e-mail 'heatherkris@mckinneytree.info' it will be forwarded on to both heather's and kris' e-mail addresses.
Should anyone not like this change and would still prefer their actual e-mail address to be shown on the tree network, just let me know and it's a quick edit.
As always, if you would like to e-mail the entire McKinney family tree at once, simply address your e-mail to family@mckinneytree.info and everyone will get your note.
Over and out.
