Real Cowboys Ride the Train

Dallas has an Incredible light rail system. Biggest in North America, I believe, and building more stations and corridors like mad.

Here's their official site.

I bought my first TX shoes. They are from a second hand store I like browsing with Claire. It is apparently also frequented by a guy who must have same feet as I - he broke in this pair perfectly.

I'd forgotten how comfortable boots can be. Especially when zooming past rush hour traffic jams.

Think the boots are great
Love the photo I have where you used them as decoration on the mantel to bracket the vase of cut flowers

Light rail rocks
Always loved the Northwestern Line that runs from the subs to Chicago loop. Unfortunately LA's is not very successful but the Buses are pretty good especially in Santa Monica and there is one Taxi Company who Seniors can join for a monthly fee ($12.00 a month) that will pick up non drivers up in the Highlands and take them into the Palisades Village for that one fee.

Gerry was working on a project when he lost his job for a traffic predictable problem for 2033. I asked him how he felt working on a project for 23 years in the future when he would turn 100 and if that affected his decisions. As you might imagine his answer was both witty and profound!

The light rail here seems to have broad support which I suspect helps. As car traffic gets worse perhaps even more people will decide rail works for them. We are currently the northmost station which helps me not miss my stop: when the train stops moving it is time for me to get off.

Someone planned ahead to get the corridors secured - which I imagine took some wise government workers.

The taxi system sounds great there.

what a great way to commute .. I'm surprised on the boots, I'm guessing you're on your feet alot during the day? I had a pair of boots when I was a kid that I loved but they weren't super comfortable for standing around (which i tended to do alot as a kid)

I still resort to running shoes for overnight calls, but compared to dress shoes boots not bad on days that are primarily teaching or administration. And boots make cool clicking noises.

Totally dig the boots! I know a guy here who swears by boots for comfort (when it isn't so hot).
