a stroll around Woodland
Woodland, Ca., where Brian lives is a very interesting experience! His house is in a historic directory and the changes Shannon and Brian have made are creative and striking.
Photo 1 is an orange tree in his yard that supplies the BEST "real" orange juice. While out walking one discovers Dog Gone Alley
#3. Next inside the Chicago Cafe run by it's owner and his wife(who are Chinese). This cafe has been the town gathering place since 1905! There are both tables and booths with locals discussing the latest excitement in town which is a counterfeit $100.00 bill. Each has seen it and passed it along:). The kitchen is right out of National Geographic and they allowed me to take this photo.
While walking back to Brian's we passed where I took photo #4. Last (#5) I imposed on Gerry to embrace Valentine's Day wishes to you all.
Brian has been most patient helping me with these latest blogs....As most of you know I have had computer frustration and am just attempting to get to know my new system .

Really nice, pics, Mom.
It looks like a wonderful community. Thanks for sharing. Yummy oranges: how long does an orange tree live? That would be a huge plus for a home, in my view.
Many orange trees in yards in his neighborhood and they were all filled with oranges! Don't know about the life of an orange tree. Our Church is meeting now in an elementary school and they jave a huge tree...maybe a (sp?) Banjon but it is beautiful! Also an un-named tree in our complex that is beautiful especially in am with bright yellow yellow budds. Need to get a pic of that!
Do you think orange trees would grow in SW Virginia? I have my doubts, but that would be awesome.
Great pics mom. Looks like you had a good time "Up North", as Wisconsinites say
