The Terminator terminated!
Yesterday ,our governator, as he is sometimes called, fired all part time state employees as well as stating all state employees pay for time worked in July would be paid at $6.55 an hour. He fired more than 10,000 and some other 200,000 may have pay cuts. California front page news but hits close to home as Gerry was one of those part time state employees! Secondly, I hardly felt the earthquake but Gerry was down town working and his building is quite new and equipped with rollers so it makes it safer but allows one to feel the moving more. Usually life is pretty regular and I wonder "what could i have to blog about...well..2 items presented:)

The first thing I thought about when I read that Arnold had fired all part time state workers was Gerry. Hoped somehow he was excluded.
Gerry - sorry to hear the news. I know you got more out of that job than a paycheck and will miss it. Hopefully you can now reclaim your rightful thrown on top of the bridge world.

Losing direct access to bright people with experience and insight can't make for better decisions during times of challenge for the state. Sorry to hear the news. California is the worse off.
