Gerry has successfully been hired by another Bridge travel opportunity
So my birthday and Christmas will be spent traveling.
The Princess line allowes employees to even do air travel under a global marine travel situation with allows connections to be done cheaply just as if you were real long assigned employees of the ship. Princess usually puts you in crew cabins but they are fun and you have 2 port holes to look out on and still get to eat in regular dinning rooms.
We will be sailing on the Tahitian Princess, a much smaller ship. I think Gerry said only 500 passangers.
There will be 13 ports of call and all places we have not been. We fly to Papeete, Tahiti on Dec 16th .
We will stay at the Sheraton Hotel Tahiti ( 866-716-8140) http://www.sheratontahiti.com. There is a Gaugin Museum there and we may take in Tetiaroa Island made famous to be Marlon Brandos private atoll.
We board the ship on Dec 19 and the travel destinations are as follows Moorea, Polynesia; Bora Bora, French polynesia; Pitcairn Island; Easter island; San Martin, Peru; Lima, Peru; Quito, Ecuador; Panama Canal, Panama; Colon, Panama; San Bias Islands, Panama; Limon, Costa Rica and ending in Ft Lauderdae, Fla.
We are always reachable via email as well as calling the ship directly.
So as we sail our thoughts will be with each of you celebrating a season of joy and happiness. You will be in our thoughts as we wish you a safe and happy holiday season wherever it takes you!

Gerry has a sweet setup with his bridge talent, way sweet.
This sounds like an awesome trip, with some really interesting ports. Shannon and I have been to a few of your ports but having the opportunity to taste a bit from each of these locations sounds perfect.
We'll miss you over the holiday, thanks for hosting thanksgiving .. great food/company as always.

Yes, it really is allowing us to travel pretty inexpensively. Now we even fly Martime...special rates. Only problem this time is the yellow fever vacane was required plus international documentation. Found a Dr in the Palisades who does this...2 shots....$450.00. BUT it ius good for 10 years!
Which ports have you been to? Do you have any specific ideas of things to see/do?
Thank you and Shannon for coming. With all your travel and time apart, I realize it was a special gift you both gave. My brother really enjoyed everyone and his kids seemed to fit in as well.
All in all, I have alot to be thankful for when I see all of you gathered together, each individuals and all special and with interesting partners who all mean a lot to me.
Will miss you as well over Christmas but traveling certainly makes a difference in having special things to do as well as remembering you are special to lots of other people as well.

Of the ports you list we enjoyed Panama the best .. well, the islands off of Panama. Great bird watching and warm waters. We almost made a trip to Easter Island but opted out of that on our last vaca due to flight costs.
We'll miss you over the holidays .. I'd say take lots of pictures but I know that you'll take care of that anyway.
Maybe I can arrange a short trip down to LA in early February to have a post Mom BDay dinner ... and .. celebrate Steven's BDay as well!

I think the number of pics I take is known to all! When we recently traveled with Matt and Shannon they took none as they said mine would be MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Did Shannon realize I made the nature frame? Cute story. Found the feather on a walk with Anna in Va. I have a floer press I have been experimenting with. Anna wanted the feather when we first found it and I ofcourse agreed it could be hers. Later she came to me and said "Tickle feather wants to go home with you because you like it so much and you will remember when we found it" When you come back another beautiful bird will give us another one" and at that point I knew I would make it for Shannon as she does so much to improve the lives of birds!
We will think of you as we visit these locations, knowing you have been there before us. Have a great visit in Iowa
