McFly my new program

Hi all, I've started making a computer video game, that I call McFly. To try it out, you'll need to log into a site run by MIT.

Here's the address; create an account so you can log in:

http://scratch.mit.edu/

Then, search for my game under McFly02STL in the search bar.

I'd like to know what you think, and I will keep revising it over time. As a preview, it's a program that let's you (start to fly) a United Nations cargo plane trying to air lift supplies into a hostile area. Check it out! -Riley

This just in. If you google for McFly02STL you can get to the MIT site directly.

You'll still need to set up a login and password, but this may get you to my game a bit faster. Enjoy.

Riley - Very cool game. As a pilot I'm impressed with the accuracy of the flight controls .. when i first started to fly I pulled the controls down thinking the plane would descend .. didn't take long to realize my mistake!

the background music is very peculiar .. but, actually sounds like the static that can be heard in my headphones when flying .. sounds like the dull hum of propellers.

I think your choice of backgrounds was smart, and - cool that it changes as you fly. The fact that it is not stationary .. like a beach or something, gives you the feeling that you are moving.

Few suggestions for future versions ..
- Maybe a night background rotates in every once in a while? .. or .. if you could upload a few cloud backgrounds and randomly pull up one of the cloud scenes, changing every second may be cool and simulate speed better.

- Maybe a plunging sound .. or bubbles if the plane gets too low (to indicate hitting the ocean).. maybe an airsick Y position of over 100?

Can't wait to see future enhancements!

Riley I really tried to get connected to see this, however nothing worked. I used Google and could get the site up but could not make McFly....come up. Sounds exciting though and I am impressed! Do you have any more clues for me to try to see what you have done?>

Look at my last 2 blogs one on Anna and one on Ella. They are excited to see you at Craig's wedding!

Very nice, Riley! I agree with Brian that maybe looping in some additional backgrounds could be a nice visual addition, but overall it works great!

Adam McKinney:

Wow Riley this is really impressive. It reminds me of a game that your uncle Brian and your Dad Jeff played when they were younger called flight simulator. Your's is very similar. Pretty fun too. It got me through a very slow day at work. Let us know if you work on any others. I'm eager to try more.
