Garden Update Spring08

You saw me dig up the circle garden - from our old swimming pool site.
Here are updated pictures.

Our newly growing purple puff balls are amazing to me, because they have so many petals.

This is our new project. It's a giant vegetable garden in our back yard.

I lined up this fence. My dad says I did a really good job,

When we checked the fence line with our compass, we realized we were within one degree of a perfect angle for the fence. Dad called me "eagle-eye", but I thought he said "evil-eye" which I didn't like so much. So now, he calls me Hawkeye.

Happy gardening. We'll hopefully show you our crop later in the summer...

Wow Riley....your garden is super impressive! What will you be planting? St Louis is humid so how do you water....early am? Wonder if watering , during sun high points would cook the small plants? Looks like you used railroad ties??? Do you have racoon's who might be smart enough to eat your crop at just the time period it will be ready to pick? With all the flooding in the midwest, I bet your vegetables will come in handy as I think prices will go up for food ! Nice job! Your dad was a better gardner than I was but I have many happy memories about our gardens...and even more happy about the good green beans and corn etc we ate from the garden! Kris has planted a garden!

Riley- Excellent garden. Your soil looks good and black. I have planted a garden too but it is not near as nice as yours. It looks like you maintain your garden much better than mine. It is time for me to get the hoe out and do some work. Enjoy the tasty vegetables from your garden and your beautiful flowers.

Riley - we have alot of yard/garden work to do at out place. Can you please come over and help manage the effort? Just head west, we're the brown house 1,986 miles on the right. I'll have cookies waiting!

Whoa! This is quite a space you guys have built. Planted only a few ground cover plants in our backyard and the dirt was clay-brown filled with miscellaneous pieces of metal. I keep hoping for a valuable coin, but only pull up screws and bolts.
