Mark Twain Rocks

Recently I went to Hannibal Missouri, camping and learning about Mark Twain. It was cool.

Mark Twain State Park has some pretty shoreline, which we camped right next to, I called this cliff "old man".

On a hike we saw these butterflies.

I liked the forest there, and I was hike leader for part of our hike.

In Hannibal, we dressed up while visiting Becky Thatcher's real house.

We also had a nice camp out - our first camping trip more than 100 miles from home. Mom was worried because it was really stormy in Saint Louis, but we were enjoying gentle breezes and great weather where we were. Here is a panorama inside our tent when I woke up one morning.

Based on your title I thought this blog was going to be about how great Mark Twain was .. how much he "rocks the house". thinking maybe you just finished reading about the adventures of Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn.

Camping in Twain's Park is a much better adventure than sawyer or finn would have offered. (those woods look CREEPY!)

Some notable Twain quotes .. (the guy talked a lot!)

"Always do right. That will gratify some of the people, and astonish the rest."

"There comes a time in every rightly constructed boy's life that he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure."

"Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live."

Looks like a fabulous time! I especially like your superb stiching of those photos to make the tall image of you in the tent.

My favorite picture is of the shoreline with the old man rock. If you get to travel to TN or VA to visit, I will show you some great hiking trails, that you could leads us on.
