Cat name vote now in - thanks!
We had really great name suggestions for our catamaran from the McKinneyTree. In our first round of voting, we picked Cat-A-Tonic, Feline o'Mine, MeWow, Pounce d'Leon, Macavity, Tigger, Dream Kit, Cat-Cat, Hello Kitty and Jolly Cliley. Without our trying, the voting resulted in everyone who submitted names having a semi-finalist. Double meanings carried the day in the finals - with Cat-A-Tonic, Macavity (a possible tie-in to mom's practice?) and Cat-Cat (Monet's cat, also reflecting the two hull construction of the boat) in the running. But the final winner was "Jolly Cliley" (submitted by Grace - a mash-up of our names, and a tie-in with our Jolly Roger pirate flag proudly carried by our vessel - see below).
Great suggestions by all: we couldn't have done it without you.
Here are some pics of me on the boat, looking for sea gulls and other boats from my station on the front trampoline - where water pounds up through the net and spashes me.
Note carefully the ring that is at the base of the sail. It's basically a double loop key-ring, now stretched into an "alpha-fish" shape, and JUST ABOUT TO BLOW APART!! Then our jib sail flew around like wild and we had to dodge a set of big E-skow class racers bearing down on us. Mom was a star repairing it as we shot across the water.
I like to take a dip swimming while we get the boat ready to sail.
Here's a close up of the boat with dad coming in from his first test run, earlier. He's wet from flipping it by accident, but still smiling.
Note our pirate flag that we hoist as a fair warning to other boats in the area. AHrrrrggH!

Great photos! Your position on the front trampoline seems like a good spot to be stationed to get views of your surroundings.
Grace was excited to hear her name made the semi-finals and then the final vote. Thanks for making us all a part of your great adventure!
That pilot flag is the best thing ever!
This looks Soooo fun .. If I ever make it to St Louis for a visit I hope you'll take me out, I would love to get some instruction, and - help man the front of the boat.
This boat looks like a lot of fun. Are there alot of other boats that are in the area as well or do you usually kind of have the lake to yourself? It looks pretty open in most of your pictures. Love the name great suggestion Grace! Sounds like you have a great crew to man that thing. Glad to hear you guys didn't get cap sized when faced with the oncoming traffic.
