Notes from Smiley Riley

What's the word for cowboy in Chinese? In Japanese? in Korean? in VIetnamese?

When I first heard we might move here, I asked my dad if:
1) I could keep my bed?
2) Are there even any Asians in Texas?

This is what some people think about Texas:

But it turns out almost 20% of the people in my town of Plano are Asian Americans.
This is cool to me because I like things like Asian art, such as at the Crow Asian Art Collection Museum in Dallas:

It turns out there is a HUGE Asian market in my town, that people drive all the way from Oklahoma City to shop.

This is their website:

Here is an ENTIRE AISLE of instant noodles:

There were also some fabulous dragons, and superb Asian ceramics for sale (from $2 to more than $500). The market was really like taking a jet to Asia.

We also ate fresh bread dumplings stuffed with delicious fillings.

A great adventure.

OMG I love instant noodles, I think I might just have to drive to Plano to stock up for the year.

Awesome shirt Riley, ... I'd like to see if you could fit in that giant vase, I bet you could

Dear Riley good to see you in Springfield. I will watch your blog.

Noodles are a staple in our house as well - but fresh dumplings are a real treat. Yum!
