That is great news Steven! Having a place to walk to for work is key in Santa Monica - and, this sounds like a nice place to try out. I think Shannon and I actually looked at some furniture in this store when we still lived in LA. Hope you enjoy it and meet some cool people.

I always thought the hardest part of a new job was the first interview with the boss. After that, you set your own "pace to please" and learn fast to do just a little more than what's expected. Most of us have had many jobs doing things that sometimes seemed pointless and other times were personally rewarding. At the end of the work day, leave satisfied you did your best. Others will notice your good work. Glad there's a little time before school starts to get comfortable. Progress is measured in many ways, but you have always met challenges that most would avoid completely. To me, you are brave beyond words. Dad

This sounds like it could be a nice opportunity. First day / week /month jitters are normal, and add to part of the gratification over time. We'll be thinking of you, and will be interested in what you think of things. Being within walking distance is a real plus, and I bet there will be some good folks there. At least one more good person, if you're part of the team. Best of luck from us in Saint Louis.

Congrats Steve-O. I'll be anxious to hear about it. Starting a new job can be difficult. This week I've been going through the same thing. But today's day 2 and things have already been easier with familarity. I learned that my phone has a recording device on it so what I've been doing when I can, is record peoples names and what they do so that way I can have a reminder. Don't stress out to much. Remember it's all part of a process. It gets easier the more we step out of our comfort zones and try new things.

Steven - That's great news. It's nice to be working close to home and getting some fresh air while you're at it. Who knows, maybe Jessica Alba or someone like that might stop in.

hi-fives all around yo! just go and enjoy it, and do your best. no sleeping in the stock room ;) - then you'll know you gave it a shot.

oh, and what kris said.

Way to go! Successful interview!!!! And great location!!!! I really am proud of you. Trying things out is what matters and having a "plan" leads to a great start. Exploring what you want to do and can manage is success in itself. Will be interested to hear more about what you think. Nice to have it start now. You can then make school decisions in accordance to how things work. You have much to be proud of! Your acceptance and courage make you a winner! Bet Janice and Daniell are very pleased with your efforts. Mom and Gerry
