Pretty interesting especialy to me at this is the type of art that is at the Getty. How they found some of these pieces is amazing....like some were being transported on ships in seas around Italy a Roman/Greek country and the ships were attacked and sunk. Now some have been found in the ocean. They need a lot of profesional restoration to get the barnicals off and the damage repaired. At the Villa (Getty) they train in a masters program where students learn how to attatch arms, make fingers etc that have broken off.

This looks like a good project.

You had got to be the prize winning blogger this month! I have enjoyed all your posts. How did you do this "download"? I like you to teach me.

OK Fundamental question....what is a PDF File?

I am guesing text but that can't be right because you have photos which would be jpeg.

Nicely done, I like the way your paper walked me through the tour. It almost seemed like you were with me explaining why I should appreciate the statues. I also like how you would describe how one piece showed something similar to an earlier piece.

My favorite line "On our seventh stop we will be looking at another statue, so i hope you like statues by now." .. funny, i can hear a tour guide saying that and getting people to laugh/have a good time.

Mom: A pdf file is another format for web its by adobe it can turn .doc or webpages into a file called .pdf

Brain: Yes that was my favorite line too.

I really like your tour, Steven. It's clever, conversational, detailed, with beauty and human interest. Strong work.

There's a book on Greek culture that I really enjoyed reading a few years ago. I stumbled on it in a used book store, but it's now on Amazon*. It was eye opening for me how much of our modern lives' good parts are directly derived from Greek ideas.
