I have thought about what I will do for a career as my graduation date in arriving very quickly. My expected graduation date is March 26, 2011. Just over a half a year a way. I have learned a lot in my school and am grateful for the support given to me during this time.

I am worried about getting a real world type job because of my illness. Mom discovered or herd of a woman while visiting lisa about freelancing websites. Freelancing is where you are hire per job, but the trouble here is you have to find the jobs.

I found a website called Elance.com. I signed up for this site yesterday. Today I just made my first proposal for a job. A proposal basically is asking for a job with a client and suggesting a price that you will get paid once the job is done. I want to take this slow as I am still in school and it makes me quite nervous, but I proposed to do a job today for a client.

The client drew a pencil drawing and wants this pencil drawing done digitally in a vector program, illustrator. It's just line drawing and would take me no more than half a day, at the max. I thought this was a easy job and would give me a decide feedback rating through the site if the client thought I did a good job. The price I proposed for my work is $50 dollars. I went rather cheap because its my first job and I have no feedback on the site yet. It is also a rather easy task that the client wanted. Most designers could do the job in a hour if they worked fast, but I am slow at may take me a few hours.

I hope it all goes well and this can be my regular job. The only concern I have with doing this full time for my career is that the jobs are not guaranteed. Meaning it would add a lot of stress on my life in money aspects because I would always be worrying about paying my rent and bills if jobs did not come in time.

The ideal world I would have money set aside for my apt and food and bills and this job could just be extra, but that's not life I guess. Anyways I'll let you know if I get accepted and how the first job goes I wont here back for 3 days at worst.

As you all know I have a mental illness. This is very hard for me to be around large groups of people. Even times that should provide happiness, like small family gathering, is hard for me to concentrate and hard for me at times to be able to understand what people are saying. Mainly because I believe they are machines. Not just a fantasy belief as if I weren't mentally ill, but a real feeling that when people are talking I am receiving other messages that are not what people are really saying. To most people I seem perfectly find in the outer appearance; although while I am communicating I am not really having a true conversation. I am talking to the machines about my heart beat with metaphors and other aspects that you could never understand.

My point to tell you the above is that it will be most likely impossible for me to ever get a normal "A-typical" Job like the rest of you. I know most of you doubt this as mom and other family members are saying I could get better and I have already gotten much healthier. Well it is true I have gotten healthier in the fact that I can function in a normal day without going to the hospital and I appear to have nothing wrong with me unless I voice my problem. \

Well I have been praying and have a desire to be a professor. I like to teach and was told in high school that I may be good at it due to my personality. Although some times those test in high school really have no importance. More importantly I really have a desire to teach and become a professor.

With luck and in today's world there are online professor jobs. For instance the school I am going to know "The Arts Institute Online" hires professors for adjunct word. I think adjunct means per class at a time.

I know I can be a success at the online environment with my illness. I know this because I currently have a 3.10 GPA in the environment and have completed 2 of my 4 years in the B.S program. I would not have been able to get this far with a normal college due to my illness. I already have a concept of the professors job and am learning much about the program to be able to teach it eventually.

You may check my opportunity finding out at: Main Site and the pdf file explaining the requirements for this position at Pdf Requirement Explanation

In this document it says you will receive a compensation of $1,500 dollars per class if accepted.

If you read the explanation one requirement is that I get a MFA, masters in fine arts. I know the economy is bad but I would hope that there would be some way that I may be able to afford this. Whether that be through mom and dad, family members, or a co-signed loan that I can hopefully eventual pay off.

This would be a dream and I would finally be able to look at my self as a success and one step further to become self-sufficient and economically secured for my own future.

So look at the links I posted. And hopefully we can come up with a plan to further my education and my future success.
